Nestled in the eaves of the shop, on the third floor, a team of milliners beaver away. Surrounded by wooden head blocks, rolls of fabrics and reels of ribbons, they design and whip up the very latest millinery and hatting styles.

 

Under the watchful eye of Sylvia Fletcher, a milliner of 60 years and whose creations have graced the most famous heads in the world, the workroom is the beating heart of the shop. Hats are whisked upstairs to have their bands changed; brims are trimmed; crowns are reblocked; new linings sewn in and leather sweatbands replaced. During the British social season bespoke orders are taken for Couture hats, their own

 

All year round bespoke orders are taken for couture millinery. From dying-to-match an existing style to creating an exquisite head piece from scratch for that all-important social season engagement, the workroom never stops.
